Make Something Monday: Yo-yo Table Runner for Mom

Honestly, this is a project that I have probably been working on for about ten years now. One Yo-yo at a time. I started this project when I was in the Young Women program through our Church. They were trying to teach us all to sew on a small project. I wasn't really in need of this education, since I had been sewing since I was about four. I decided my project was going to be much bigger than the throw pillow we were working on. Mine was going to be a regular sized sham.

I had all of the pieces cut out ages ago and just had to put it together. I was working on it and realized that it would make a rather pretty table runner, but also that it wouldn't match any of my current or future decor. So I decided back in January that I would finish it for my Mom for her birthday. She really enjoys pastels and it would fit her dining table perfectly.

So what do you think? I almost kept it for myself. I am in love with the finished project. This picture was actually taken while I was standing on my dining table, don't tell Matt. It was the best way to get a decent shot and not put it on the floor where the kids would attack.
