Budgeting: A necessity

Matt and I have been budgeting for quite some time now.  With Matt in school and all of the expenses involved with that, we have had a really tight budget.  Having a budget has helped us pay off so many of our debts, and now the only one other than our house that we have left is Matt's federal student loans.

I love Dave Ramsey's teachings, I have mentioned this before.  Because of Dave Ramsey and Financial Peace University I have been scaling down our expenses as much as possible.  There are so many places that I am looking into saving a little extra money.

I paid for the Total Money Makeover software, it was about $70 for the year.  And it is awesome for especially Matt, who is more of the computer person.  You can find the software at https://www.mytotalmoneymakeover.com/.  I absolutely love this and it totally does all of the math for you.  I am very much the paper and pencil person so I also use the budget sheets from http://www.lds.org/bc/content/shared/content/english/pdf/language-materials/33293_eng.pdf?lang=eng.  I like to do it both ways, the paper and pencil version allows me to jot down a new number really fast rather than logging into the computer every time; and the software allows me a better visual as where we are exactly with our finances.

We are going to have to get a lot tighter with our budget.  All of Matt's student loans will start to come due next April, and I am a little nervous about how it is going to workout with our finances.
