I hate spending money on clothes that I am going to have to get rid of in six months to a year. I mean what is the point in that. The biggest one to drive me nuts is kids pajamas. I decided this year that it would stop. I thought of a way to avoid buying to many pairs every year.
I thought about things a lot, and decided on what I truly needed every year. The kids are only able to wear them for a short time and they are always still in good condition. I would pass on all of Cheyenne's old ones to Austin but that meant that I still had to buy new ones for Dakota every year.
So I decided rather than buying them for Cheyenne and Dakota, I would just buy some for Cheyenne that Dakota could wear as well. This year I bought five pairs of knit pants in masculine colors and a package of five white tee shirts, for each of my older two (I already had enough for Austin for this year). Now I can pass them down to the next child each year.
I will only ever have to buy one set a year. Once they have been through Austin, it will be about time to retire them and I will have saved so much by simplifying everything. Not to mention it is that much less that I will have to store. I really like this solution and thankfully the kids don't mind being dressed alike at least for bed. So this is just one of the many ways that I save money.
