Back to School Prep: Lunches

Matt and I don't have a lot of extra money to pay for school lunches every month, because it would be outside our grocery budget.  It was kind of a hard decision.  We discussed the pros of the ease of just sending her to school to let her eat there versus the cost of it.  It was so much less expensive, to pack her a lunch.

I already pack Matt a lunch for at work, I got used to packing his when he worked for the mine.  So we bought her a Pink lunch bag.  She is so excited to finally be able to use her lunch bag.  She had to have it be pink, so that it would match her backpack (so funny).

Because she doesn't need a whole ton of food for lunch, she didn't need anything bigger than this bag.  She loved this bag a lot, she was so funny when we bought it.

Here is what was in her lunch yesterday.  Peanut Butter and Honey, Carrots, Grapes, String Cheese, and Juice.  Matt is a bit of a stickler about what they eat, he wants everything healthy.  The Capri Sun is one of the ones with fruits and veggies in them.  We don't eat anything with High Fructose Corn Syrup or Dyes.

I am sure that there are a whole bunch of really awesome ideas out there for more creative school lunches, but we go for simple around here.  My kids will eat the same thing every day, peanut butter and jelly.
