This past week we also had another conference, a multi-stake conference. Matt attended the conference and I stayed home due to health problems. I was thinking about my family and read a conference talk by L. Tom Perry, from the April LDS General Conference. In reading his talk I was reminded of how important family is in the bigger picture.
When it comes to eternal life, being married in the Temple and being sealed to your spouse is one of the most important actions that we can take. At least I feel that it is. I love my husband and children so much, and they bring me great joy. I was married in the Temple, and I am so happy to even have the chance of being with this man through this life and through eternity.
I know that I am blessed for having children and making the sacrifices necessary to raise them. Being a mother is not always easy, especially with a child like Dakota, but it is and will always be worth it. I know that I receive blessings for doing difficult things. Elder L. Tom Perry said "Family is the center of life and is the key to eternal happiness", I know this to be the truth.
I feel that it is sad how the state of the world is these days, so many people choose not to get married or have children. I can totally understand the allure of living life without the entanglements of a spouse and children, but I also can't imagine how my life would be without my family.
